Rep. Andy Biggs, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, posted a series of tweets on January 27, 2026, addressing border security and law enforcement issues under the Trump administration.
In his first tweet at 19:13 UTC, Biggs stated: “President Trump was given a mandate to secure our borders. Under his leadership, @DHSgov, @ICEgov, and @CBP have worked tirelessly to deport the worst of the worst from our country. But radical local Democrats are standing in the way. Here’s who they’re fighting for: https://t.co/JFrwWZZF5E https://t.co/qGOSmJUawI”.
Shortly after, at 19:13 UTC, he followed up with another post: “President Trump and the Freedom Caucus are fighting for the American people. We stand with our law enforcement as they carry out lawful deportations.”
Later that day at 20:35 UTC, Biggs commented on public demonstrations and law enforcement activities: “It’s a simple concept: don’t interfere with law enforcement officers. Every American has the right to protest peacefully. Interference and obstruction are not pillars of a peaceful protest.”
Biggs has been active in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017 and previously served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
