Rep. Andy Biggs, U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, addressed several political and public safety issues in a series of posts on his social media account this week.

On September 23, 2025, Biggs criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer regarding the possibility of a government shutdown, posting: “More lies. Schumer’s Shutdown.”

The following day, Biggs expressed support for federal law enforcement officials after reports of violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. On September 24, he wrote: “Violence against our courageous law enforcement officials is completely unacceptable. I am praying for our @ICEgov agents and their families while we await more details.”

Later that same day, Biggs commented on remarks by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz about former President Donald Trump and subsequent security concerns. He stated: “Tim Walz publicly hoped for President Trump’s death a few weeks ago. Now he’s making fun of a legitimate security threat. The radical Left only sows division.”

Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017 and previously served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958, he currently resides in Gilbert and holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
