Rep. Andy Biggs, U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, used his social media platform to mark Veterans Day and comment on recent political developments in Washington.
On November 11, 2025, Biggs posted a message recognizing the nation’s veterans: “God bless our veterans, and God bless the United States of America.”
Later that day, he highlighted legislative efforts aimed at supporting veterans. In a tweet dated November 11, 2025, Biggs wrote: “This Veterans Day, we must recommit to honoring our nation’s heroes. I’ve introduced three bills for our veterans that ease financial burdens, expand healthcare freedom, and hold the VA accountable. More from @DailySignal https://t.co/doiczUDZoM”
Addressing government operations on November 12, 2025, Biggs criticized the handling of a government shutdown. He stated: “The inconvenience and pain caused by this record-breaking government shutdown could have been easily avoided. The agreement that will pass tonight is the same deal that was offered over a month ago. Democrats played political games and held Americans hostage for nothing.”
Biggs has served in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017 after previously serving in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
