Rep. Andy Biggs, who represents Arizona’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several political and commemorative issues through posts on his social media account.

On September 19, 2025, Biggs marked National POW/MIA Recognition Day by stating, “On National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we remember that freedom is never free. We honor those who were held as prisoners of war and those who are still missing. You are not forgotten.”

Later that day, he commented on the prospect of a government shutdown, attributing responsibility to Democratic leadership: “Any government shutdown will be 100% the fault of Chuck Schumer and the Democrats.” This post was made on September 20, 2025.

In another post dated September 20, 2025, Biggs addressed immigration policy concerns related to amnesty for undocumented immigrants: “Giving mass amnesty to millions of illegal aliens who unlawfully crossed our borders would completely abandon President Trump’s priorities. We must not allow that to happen. No amnesty.”

Andy Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District in Congress since 2017 after previously serving in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA and earned his JD from the University of Arizona in 1984.
