Rep. Andy Biggs, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, posted a series of tweets on January 5, 2026, addressing recent incidents of political violence and expressing strong opinions regarding their motivations.

In his first post at 16:04 UTC, Biggs responded to news involving the Vice President’s family, stating: “Glad to hear that your family is safe, @VP. Attacking politicians’ homes over political disagreements is unacceptable, and the attacker must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We must be a nation of law and order. Political violence cannot have a place here.”

Later that day at 19:56 UTC, he made another brief statement: “Despicable.”

At 20:11 UTC, Biggs commented on the alleged motives behind an attack on Senator JD Vance’s home, writing: “Of course @JDVance’s home attacker was indoctrinated by radical Leftist ideology. Transgenderism is a mental illness.”

Andy Biggs has served in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017 and previously held office in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. He was born in Tucson in 1958 and currently resides in Gilbert. Biggs holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
