Rep. Andy Biggs, who represents Arizona’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, has posted a series of statements on social media criticizing Democratic lawmakers and local officials regarding federal government operations and immigration policy.

On October 5, 2025, Biggs wrote, “Reminder: Democrats in D.C. shut down the federal government over healthcare for illegal aliens. It’s a tale as old as time—the Left has always placed the wellbeing of illegal aliens over American citizens.”

In another post dated October 6, 2025, he commented on events in Chicago: “Disgraceful. Chicago’s corrupt local leadership is aiding and abetting obstruction of justice. God bless and protect our courageous Border Patrol and ICE agents.”

The following day, on October 7, 2025, Biggs addressed two senators from Arizona: “Senators Kelly and Gallego continue to keep the federal government closed despite voting for the exact same spending levels six months ago. They’re putting politics over Arizonans.”

Andy Biggs has served in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Richard Miranda. He previously held office in the Arizona Senate between 2013 and 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958, Biggs currently resides in Gilbert and holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
