Rep. Andy Biggs, who represents Arizona’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, made a series of statements on his social media account on October 7, 2025, addressing issues ranging from alleged government overreach to foreign policy and healthcare reform.
In a post published at 03:37 UTC, Biggs wrote: “Joe Biden weaponized the DOJ to spy on his political enemies in Congress. The “threat to our democracy” folks are nowhere to be found—though an abuse of power of this magnitude fundamentally endangers our republic.”
Later that day, at 14:33 UTC, Biggs commented on the anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel: “Two years ago, Hamas invaded and brutally attacked our ally Israel. We mourn with the families of those slain and held hostage. We will not let terrorists win. We pray for peace in the Middle East. Thanks to President Trump’s efforts, we are closer to peace than ever before.”
At 17:41 UTC, he addressed healthcare policy and criticized the Affordable Care Act: “The reality is that Obamacare is only affordable when it is heavily subsidized. The complete failure of the “Affordable” Care Act is why health insurance premiums have skyrocketed. That’s why I introduced a bill to completely—and responsibly—repeal Obamacare.”
Biggs has served as Arizona’s 5th district representative since 2017 and previously was a member of the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958, he currently resides in Gilbert and holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
