U.S. Representative Andy Biggs, who has served Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on his official X account criticizing both media coverage and Democratic leadership regarding recent incidents and policy debates.

On September 24, Biggs referenced an incident involving NBC News and a U.S. Congresswoman, stating: “Even NBC “News” deleted their incorrect post, but a U.S. Congresswoman who pledged her allegiance to Somalia doubled down. Stop lying and encouraging violence against American institutions.”

Later the same day, he commented on two violent incidents involving law enforcement and political rhetoric: “Charlie Kirk’s assassin wrote “Hey Fascist! Catch!” on bullets. Today’s gunman targeted an ICE facility with “anti-ICE” rounds. Mainstream Media can no longer hide the truth. The radical Left’s hateful rhetoric encourages violence against law enforcement and conservatives.”

On September 25, Biggs criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer over ongoing government funding negotiations: “Chuck Schumer is threatening to shut down the government over taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries and free healthcare for illegal aliens. Democrats will never put Americans first.”

Andy Biggs, born in Tucson in 1958 and now residing in Gilbert, Arizona, began representing Arizona’s 5th district in Congress after succeeding Richard Miranda in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. He holds a BA from Brigham Young University (1982) and a JD from the University of Arizona (1984).
