U.S. Congressman Andy Biggs, who represents Arizona’s 5th district and has served in Congress since 2017, posted a series of tweets on October 9, 2025, criticizing Senate leadership and discussing upcoming podcast content.

In his first tweet at 14:08 UTC, Biggs wrote simply: “Shameful.”

Later that morning at 14:20 UTC, he addressed the ongoing government shutdown, stating: “Chuck Schumer is reveling in his shutdown. @SenMarkKelly and @SenRubenGallego stand with their corrupt King Schumer. They should be ashamed of themselves. Our Senators should put Arizonans ahead of partisan political games and vote to reopen the government.”

In a subsequent tweet at 17:07 UTC, Biggs promoted his podcast: “The What’s the Biggs Idea? Podcast is back today featuring Paragon Health Institute’s @brian_blase. Brian and I will be discussing the failure of Obamacare and Democrats’ push to make COVID-era extensions permanent. Tune in LIVE this afternoon for a great conversation!”

Andy Biggs was born in Tucson in 1958 and currently resides in Gilbert. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1982 and earned a law degree from the University of Arizona in 1984. Before entering Congress, he served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017.
