Rep. Andy Biggs, U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, addressed several issues in a series of posts on September 18, 2025, including honoring the late Charlie Kirk and advocating for state control over highway regulations.
In his first post of the day, Biggs reflected on the recent passing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk: “Last week, we tragically lost a tremendous leader and friend, Charlie Kirk. This week, the House will pass a resolution honoring his life and legacy. It’s an honor to lead today’s discussion on this resolution.” (September 18, 2025)
Shortly after, Biggs posted a brief comment: “Completely unhinged.” (September 18, 2025) The context or subject of this statement was not specified in the tweet.
Later that evening, he addressed transportation policy by announcing action regarding federalism and electric vehicle regulations: “Today, I sent a letter to House Transportation Committee Leadership urging them to preserve commonsense federalism for EVs in HOV lanes. Individual states—not the federal government—should retain the right to address traffic congestion on their highways. Read below” (September 18, 2025)
Biggs has served as Arizona’s representative in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert at age 64, Biggs holds degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Arizona.
