Rep. Andy Biggs, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, recently highlighted several legislative initiatives on his Twitter account related to healthcare reform and insurance protections.
On December 8, 2025, Biggs shared information about Rep. Chip Roy’s Direct Medical Care Freedom Act, stating that “@RepChipRoy’s Direct Medical Care Freedom Act allows patients to use tax-advantaged dollars for direct primary care arrangements.”
In another post on the same day, Biggs discussed Rep. Bob Onder’s Self-Insurance Protection Act: “@RepBobOnder’s Self-Insurance Protection Act protects small employers’ access to stop-loss insurance to keep self-insured premiums affordable.”
He also referenced efforts by the House Commerce Committee with a focus on program integrity and anti-fraud reforms: “@HouseCommerce’s Program Integrity and Anti-Fraud Reforms cracks down on fraud by strengthening income verification, ending silver loading, and codifying Trump-era integrity rules.”
Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs holds a BA from Brigham Young University and a JD from the University of Arizona.
