Rep. Andy Biggs, who represents Arizona’s 5th congressional district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media between December 8 and December 9, 2025, addressing healthcare policy and Congressional action on subsidies.

On December 8, Biggs referenced proposed legislation by a colleague: “@RepAndyHarrisMD’s Cash-Pay Patient Protections prevents discrimination against cash-paying patients to protect price competition.”

The following day, he commented on Congressional deliberations regarding subsidies: “Unbelievable. Congress has no choice but to let the subsidies expire. Republicans must hold the line.” This post did not specify which subsidies were being discussed.

Later on December 9, Biggs made another statement referencing Rep. Jasmine: “‘Just sayin’ low-IQ things does not make me a low-IQ individual.’ —@RepJasmine, probably”

Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Richard Miranda. He previously served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs holds a BA from Brigham Young University and a JD from the University of Arizona.
