U.S. Congressman Andy Biggs, who represents Arizona’s 5th district, used his social media platform on January 13, 2026, to address federal spending and other political issues.

In a post made at 15:06 UTC, Biggs stated, “Washington’s spending habits are out of control. That’s why I’m proposing an amendment to the Constitution requiring the federal government to operate under a balanced budget. My legislation will be marked up in @JudiciaryGOP today. Be sure to tune in!”

Shortly after, at 15:19 UTC, he posted another message: “Temporary means temporary!”

Later that day at 15:44 UTC, Biggs commented on another user’s statement with the post: “This you? Praising assassins isn’t very empathetic of you—it’s just pathetic.”

Biggs has served as a member of the U.S. Congress since 2017 after replacing Richard Miranda and previously held office in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. He was born in Tucson in 1958 and currently resides in Gilbert. Biggs holds degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Arizona.
