Rep. Andy Biggs, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing issues ranging from government subsidies to international security and judicial decisions.
On December 10, 2025, Biggs criticized the continuation of certain government financial supports, stating: “This should infuriate every American taxpayer. Let the subsidies expire.”
The following day, December 11, he commented on Taiwan’s defense policies and regional security in East Asia: “A stronger Taiwan means a safer Indo-Pacific and fewer opportunities for the CCP to tighten its stranglehold. Peace comes through deterrence, not wishful thinking. President Lai is taking the right step by boosting defense spending.”
Later that same day, Biggs addressed concerns about judicial decisions involving criminal defendants with alleged gang affiliations: “Judge Paula Xinis thinks it’s wise to let a wife-beating MS-13 gang member freely roam Maryland streets. When will our judicial system start caring more about American citizens than illegal aliens?”
Biggs has served in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017 and previously held office in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, he holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
