A new exhibition by muralist and artist Ariana Enriquez, titled “Con cariño siempre,” opened on August 9 at the Gallery at the Chandler Center for the Arts. The show will run through November 8.
Enriquez’s work in this exhibition is inspired by her family’s stories, which she collected during conversations with relatives at her great aunt’s table. She uses her art to preserve the legacy of women in her family and to keep their memories alive.
Within Mexican culture, it is believed that there are two deaths: the physical passing and being forgotten by the living. Enriquez’s visual installations aim to address this idea by celebrating acts of service, kindness, and compassion passed down through generations. Her large-scale works use flora and fauna as symbols to represent love languages within her family.
The Gallery at the Chandler Center for the Arts is located at 250 N. Arizona Ave., open Monday through Saturday with free admission. More information about current exhibitions can be found at visiongallery.org or by calling 480-782-2695.
The Vision Gallery and its sister gallery at the Chandler Center for the Arts feature over 300 regional artists and offer a range of original artworks, including paintings, ceramics, sculpture, and jewelry. Both galleries are nonprofit spaces supported by the Chandler Museum Foundation. Proceeds from art sales help fund Vision Kids, a program providing free art education workshops to the community.
Ariana Enriquez was born in El Paso, Texas, and now lives in Mesa, Arizona. She holds degrees from Arizona State University and has worked in museums before starting a mural business in 2022. Inspired by Arizona’s landscape, Enriquez uses acrylics in both studio and mural settings and has completed projects for several local businesses.
