Construction has started on a new Cambria Hotel in Mesa, marking the arrival of an upscale hospitality option for the city. The hotel will be located at 3501 S. Ellsworth Road and is expected to open in early 2027.

The four-story building will have 107 rooms and offer a range of amenities, including a rooftop restaurant and bar open to the public, a lobby bar, outdoor pool, fitness center, grab-and-go market, guest laundry facilities, meeting rooms, and EV charging stations. The design aims to appeal to both business and leisure travelers.

Aspect Hospitality Group, Clarity Strategic Opportunities, and O’Reilly Hospitality, LLC are developing the project. O’Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC will handle day-to-day operations of the hotel.

Tim O’Reilly, chief executive officer at O’Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC said: “We are excited to become a member of the Mesa community and deliver our brand of world-class guest service to the community!”

City officials say this project comes at an important time for southeast Mesa as the area continues to grow.

Mayor Mark Freeman stated: “The addition of the Cambria Hotel Mesa strengthens our position in the region and adds an asset that will benefit visitors, employers, and residents alike. It’s exciting to see this corridor continue to evolve, and we appreciate O’Reilly Hospitality for recognizing the potential here and choosing to invest in Mesa.”

Vice Mayor Scott Somers commented: “Today’s groundbreaking for the Cambria Hotel reflects the momentum we’re seeing across southeast Mesa. As travel league sports, a growing business community and other regional draws continue to grow, so does demand for elevated hospitality options. I’m thrilled to welcome Cambria to District 6 and am confident they will meet the needs of today’s visitors.”

Gary Abraham, principal at AHG Mesa, LLC said: “Mesa stands as a dynamic hub of technology and industry, enveloped by a lively community including the Mesa Gateway Airport and the Arizona Athletic Grounds. We’re excited to meet the needs of this thriving market with a new 107-room upscale select-service Cambria hotel that features premium amenities perfectly tailored to welcome and delight traveling guests.”

Matt Beary from Clarity Strategic Opportunities added: “We are thrilled to break ground on the Cambria Hotel Mesa after several years of planning alongside the City of Mesa, Choice Hotels, and other key partners who contributed to bringing this project to life. This development represents a meaningful investment in the community, and we look forward to delivering a hotel that supports Mesa’s continued growth.”
