The City of Chandler announced on Apr. 1 that its annual family-friendly movie series, CinePark, will return to Tumbleweed Park for three consecutive Friday evenings: May 1, 8 and 15. The event will feature outdoor screenings of popular films with free admission for all attendees.

CinePark offers an opportunity for families and residents to gather outdoors and enjoy movies together. The event highlights Chandler’s ongoing efforts to serve as a community hub by hosting festivals and events that draw visitors, according to the official history page.

Movies will be shown on a large screen in the park’s amphitheater, with pre-show activities starting at 6:30 p.m. and films beginning promptly at 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs and may bring their own snacks, though alcohol and glass containers are not allowed. Food vendors such as Harkins Popcorn Truck and Jasperz Island Fusion Cuisine will also be available onsite.

The schedule includes “How to Train Your Dragon” on May 1, “Lilo and Stitch” on May 8, and “Mufasa” on May 15. Tumbleweed Park is located at 2250 S. McQueen Road with parking accessible from the south end of the park.

Chandler features other gathering spots like Dr. A.J. Chandler Park surrounded by shops and historic sites, according to the official history page. The city aims to deliver outstanding public services while fostering a unique community environment for exceptional quality of life, according to its official mission page.

With its population now exceeding 240,000 residents as reported by the official history page, Chandler continues traditions that reflect both growth and historical character—including past distinctions such as ostrich farming whose feathers were once used in women’s fashions.
