The City of Chandler is inviting local residents, business owners, and community members to attend “ChandlerTalks: Dream BIG, build small,” a free event focused on how small-scale developers are working to address the region’s shortage of “missing middle” housing. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 15 at the Chandler Center for the Arts, located at 250 N. Arizona Ave. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with presentations beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Speakers at the event are expected to discuss ways in which building smaller-scale housing developments can benefit communities by offering more diverse housing options and supporting long-term sustainability.

“ChandlerTalks” is being held as part of the city’s ongoing General Plan Update process. This plan serves as a guide for Chandler’s growth and development over the next decade. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the draft General Plan—Evolving the Chandler Way—and provide feedback on it until December 1.

“This is your city and your voice matters,” said Lauren Schumann, principal planner for the City of Chandler. “By participating in ChandlerTalks or giving input on the draft General Plan, you can help shape the policies and priorities that will define Chandler for the next generation.”

More information about providing feedback on the General Plan Update can be found at Chandler General Plan.
