Mayor Kevin Hartke and the Chandler City Council are inviting residents to attend the annual State of the City event, which will be held on Thursday, February 12 at the Chandler Center for the Arts located at 250 N. Arizona Ave.
The event begins with a Lobby Experience starting at 5:30 p.m., where attendees can enjoy complimentary food samples provided by local restaurants. The main program is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., beginning with the national anthem and pledge of allegiance led by youth from Chandler.
This year’s State of the City will include the America 250 display titled “27 Flags: Our History Through the Stars and Stripes.” The exhibit features flags that represent different stages in the evolution of the United States flag, with historical information curated by Chandler Museum accompanying each flag.
The event also marks Mayor Hartke’s final State of the City address. According to organizers, he will highlight Chandler’s progress by taking attendees on a look back at community history, current achievements, and plans for future development.
