The City of Chandler’s Neighborhood Preservation Officer team has been named the 2025 Code Enforcement Department of the Year by the Arizona Code Enforcement Association (ACEA). The award recognizes the team’s new programs, community engagement, and focus on staff development.

In the past year, the team introduced initiatives such as the Code Enforcement Resident Academy and a Graffiti Education Outreach Program. They also increased opportunities for public ride-alongs, provided sign code education to businesses, and held retreats to support staff growth.

“These accomplishments reflect the team’s creativity and commitment to Chandler residents,” said Neighborhood Preservation Manager Erica Barba. “I’m proud of our hardworking team and the impact they make every day in keeping Chandler a great place to live.”

The city describes its code enforcement group as diverse and experienced, aiming to set high standards for similar teams across Arizona.
