Nine individuals will be honored for their contributions to athletics in Chandler at the upcoming Chandler Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The event is scheduled for Monday, February 2, at the Chandler Center for the Arts, located at 250 N. Arizona Ave. A reception with light refreshments will take place from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by the ceremony at 6 p.m.
The list of inductees includes athletes and coaches who have brought recognition to Chandler through their achievements. In addition to these honorees, Special Recognition Awards will be presented to Dan Serrano, retiring Principal of Perry High School, and Frank Narducci, retiring Superintendent of the Chandler Unified School District.
John Vincent, co-chairman of the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame Committee, stated: “This year’s phenomenal class features athletes and coaches who set the standard for excellence. All these honorees have represented the City of Chandler and their Chandler school in a way that is second to none. We look forward to celebrating this year’s class of Chandler Sports Hall of Fame inductees.”
The Hall of Fame works alongside the Chandler Museum to honor athletes, coaches, and teams who have contributed significantly to local sports history. Eligibility extends to those from Chandler or who lived in the city during their achievements or attended a local school.
A selection committee made up of former coaches, school administrators, athletes, and others interested in local sports history determines each year’s inductees. Since its establishment in 2004, the Hall has recognized many outstanding contributors from Chandler.
For the first time this year, tickets are free and can be reserved online through Eventbrite.
