Franklin High School is set to open for the 2026-27 academic year, introducing its established educational approach to high school students within Mesa Public Schools. The new institution will be located at the current site of Franklin Junior High and Franklin Accelerated Academy – Brimhall Campus.
The school aims to provide a small and supportive environment, with an expected enrollment of about 600 students. This setting is intended to foster academic acceleration, personal growth, and increased student involvement.
Franklin High School emphasizes maximizing instructional time and maintaining clear expectations for students. According to the announcement, “At Franklin High, every day is designed to maximize meaningful instructional time and clear expectations, giving students the structure they need to thrive.”
The curriculum will include opportunities for advanced coursework such as honors and accelerated classes. The school’s approach is designed to prepare students for college and career pathways.
A consistent code of conduct and dress code will be in place to maintain a focused learning environment. The announcement states that this structure supports “an environment where the focus remains on learning, achievement, and excellence.”
Students will also have access to athletics, performing arts, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. The school’s philosophy includes supporting all aspects of student development: “because the Franklin tradition embraces the whole student.”
Family engagement is highlighted as a key part of the school’s model. As stated in the release: “Parental involvement isn’t optional—it’s foundational. Franklin High will engage families as partners in student success, offering opportunities for collaboration and leadership.”
The faculty at Franklin High School will consist of experienced teachers familiar with the Franklin model who are committed to both academic achievement and personal growth.
