The Gilbert Chamber Foundation will host the next event in its six-part series, A Civic Event, on October 8, 2025, at The Acre in Gilbert. This session will focus on the theme of “Building Fair and Caring Communities,” aiming to strengthen civic health within the area.

A Civic Event is designed to bring together residents and neighbors for discussions on important civic topics. According to organizers, each gathering combines food, music, art, and structured dialogue to encourage participation and a sense of belonging among attendees. The goal is to make civic engagement more accessible and meaningful while fostering conversations that could impact the community’s future.

First Things First, Arizona’s early childhood agency, will deliver the featured Civic Message during the event. The organization focuses on preparing children from birth to age five for school and life by supporting families with essential resources. “Their work highlights the powerful truth that strong, caring communities start by investing in our youngest residents and supporting families with the resources they need,” organizers stated.

Through this message, participants are expected to learn how communities can be both fair—by offering equitable access to opportunities—and caring—by ensuring no one is left behind.

Organizers emphasize that building such communities requires collaboration among various groups including residents, businesses, educators, nonprofits, and civic leaders. They note that these efforts are intended not only for current needs but also for what future generations will inherit.

The event encourages attendance from community members across sectors. Organizers say input from all perspectives is vital as Gilbert works toward becoming a stronger and more inclusive community.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8 at The Acre in Gilbert from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
