The CATALYST, a collaborative initiative between the Gilbert Chamber Foundation and the Gilbert Office of Economic Development, is expanding its influence beyond the business sector. Nicole Charmoli, Foundation and Community Impact Manager for the Gilbert Chamber Foundation, recently visited Campo Verde High School to introduce students in two Entrepreneurship classes to the range of resources available at The CATALYST.

Ashley McLaren, Career and Technical Education Department Chair and Entrepreneurship instructor at Campo Verde High School, coordinated the visit after learning about The CATALYST. McLaren said, “It is so important for our young hopeful entrepreneurs to see that they have available resources right in our own backyard! I appreciate that Nicole was so willing to present this new, exciting space to our students.”

During her presentation, Charmoli explained how The CATALYST was established through strategic planning and partnerships. She highlighted the involvement of Gilbert Leadership Class 32 in launching the center and described ongoing support from industry experts who provide mentorship, professional guidance, and financial contributions.

Charmoli outlined how The CATALYST assists entrepreneurs at all stages of their business journey—from developing ideas to managing growth or planning exit strategies. She emphasized that workshops are designed to offer practical tools for immediate use by business owners. Entrepreneurs also benefit from mentoring sessions and office hours provided by volunteers with relevant expertise.

Students learned about The CATALYST’s partnerships with organizations such as Maricopa Small Business Development Centers, SCORE, and Local First Arizona. These collaborations offer specialized support tailored to help entrepreneurs achieve success.

The presentation also showcased several resource rooms at The CATALYST intended for new and growing businesses: a virtual meeting room for webinars; a consultation corner suitable for client meetings; a content creation suite equipped for video production and photography; and an audio/advice room where users can experiment with podcasting or test ideas. All these resources are offered free of charge and can be reserved online.
