Gilbert Public Schools will hold its second annual District College & Career Fair on October 20 at Gilbert High School. The event is open to students and families, aiming to connect attendees with a broad range of educational and career professionals.
This year’s fair will host more than 80 colleges, trade schools, universities, businesses, and industry partners. The event runs from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Four pre-session presentations begin at 5:00 PM, covering topics such as the Common App process with College Connect Tempe, non-traditional career pathways in a session titled “Move Over Bob” (tentative), paying for college with The College Funding Coach, and financial aid guidance including FAFSA from the Director for College Ready Arizona.
“We’re ensuring that the fair is a good picture of what students can do after high school, bringing in a balanced mix of colleges, universities, trades, community colleges, and workforce opportunities,” said Renita Miller, GPS Program & Workforce Development Coordinator.
Attendees will have access to information about various fields including aviation, nursing, auto diesel technology as well as local organizations offering jobs and internships for current students or soon-to-be graduates. StriveScan will be used again this year so students can indicate their interests and track their interactions with advisors or booths they were unable to visit.
