The Gilbert Public Schools Volunteer Network (VNET) held its annual expo on August 16 at Highland High School, drawing 460 registered volunteers. The event’s theme, “Together We Shine,” aimed to highlight the contributions of community members involved in various roles across district campuses.
Volunteers within the district serve as PTO presidents, Watch D.O.G. role models, classroom event organizers, athletic booster members, and in other capacities. VNET provides support and training for these volunteers to help ensure the success of parent-teacher organizations and booster clubs.
At the expo, attendees participated in sessions covering topics such as booster fundraising, maximizing volunteer potential, managing responsibilities as a first-year board member, and PTO finance.
Community members are encouraged to nominate outstanding volunteers for the Sheila Uggetti Volunteer of the Year Award, which is part of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Community Excellence Awards. More information about this award and nomination process can be found on the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce website.
For those seeking more details or assistance regarding volunteering opportunities with Gilbert Public Schools, additional resources are available on the GPS VNET website.
“Thank you to all of the volunteers who support our students, staff, and families!”
