Rep. Greg Stanton, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 4th district since 2019, recently posted several updates on his official social media account addressing ongoing legislative issues and constituent outreach.
On March 28, 2026, Stanton commented on the ongoing government shutdown in Congress, writing: “A bill passed the Senate 100-0 to fund critical agencies like the TSA and FEMA. If Speaker Johnson called it for a vote it would pass easily. But he won’t do that. Instead, House Republicans are prolonging this shutdown by insisting on even more funding for ICE. I voted NO.” This statement reflects his opposition to the current approach taken by House leadership regarding federal agency funding.
Later that same day, Stanton addressed foreign policy concerns related to U.S. military action abroad: “One month into Trump’s war of choice in Iran, he still has failed to provide a plan, objective, or strategy to Congress and the American people.” The post underscores his criticism of what he describes as a lack of transparency from the executive branch regarding military operations.
In an additional update posted on March 28, Stanton invited students and community members to learn about opportunities at U.S. Military Service Academies: “Interested in attending a Military Service Academy? Join us April 4 to hear from academy representatives & learn more about the congressional nominations process. The event is open to students, parents, & educators, and it’s entirely free. RSVP now “
Stanton has represented Arizona’s 4th district since replacing Kyrsten Sinema in Congress in 2019 (https://www.house.gov/representatives). He was born in Long Island, New York in 1970 and currently resides in Phoenix at age 53. Stanton earned his undergraduate degree from Marquette University in 1992 and completed his law degree at the University of Arizona three years later.
He has maintained electoral support within his district; most recently defeating Kelly Cooper with over half of the vote both in 2022 (56%) and again in 2024 (52.7%).
