Greg Stanton addresses local leadership, ICE lawsuit, and healthcare cuts

Rep. Greg Stanton, who serves Arizona’s 4th congressional district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on his Twitter account between March 30 and March 31, 2026.

On March 30, Stanton praised local Mesa officials: “Mesa is lucky to have public servants like Vice Mayor Somers and Fire Chief Cameli. Both have dedicated themselves to serving the community with integrity, skill, and heart — and made the city stronger in the process. Congratulations to both on being named one of America’s 250”.

The following day, Stanton commented on a legal challenge involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) access to taxpayer data. On March 31 he wrote: “We’re taking this to court. ICE should not have access to confidential taxpayer data.”

Later that same day, Stanton criticized Republican plans regarding healthcare funding in relation to military action in Iran. He posted: “Republicans are planning to make even MORE cuts to health care to pay for Trump’s war with Iran. No way.”

Stanton has represented Arizona’s 4th district since succeeding Kyrsten Sinema in 2019, after previously winning general elections against Kelly Cooper in both 2022 and 2024.
He was born in Long Island, New York in 1970 and currently resides in Phoenix.
He holds a BA from Marquette University (1992) and a JD from the University of Arizona (1995).
