Rep. Greg Stanton, a U.S. Congressman from Arizona, posted several messages on his Twitter account in early October 2025 highlighting support for small businesses and raising concerns about congressional procedures affecting Arizona’s representation.

On October 2, Stanton expressed appreciation for local business leadership, writing, “Small businesses are the backbone of our community. @Velma_Trayham and the Black Chamber of Arizona are helping create jobs and economic opportunity across the state. Thank you Velma for leading with purpose and delivering for Arizona’s small businesses.”

Later that day, Stanton criticized Speaker Johnson over delays in swearing in Adelita Grijalva as a member of Congress: “Totally unacceptable that @SpeakerJohnson won’t swear in Adelita Grijalva immediately. He refused to swear her in on Tuesday, and now he’s refusing to swear her in tomorrow, though she is in Washington and stands ready. Each passing day denies the people of #AZ07 representation”.

On October 3, Stanton directed a message to the president of the University of Arizona: “My message to the @UArizona President:” including two links presumably providing further details.

Stanton has served as a representative after winning consecutive elections against Kelly Cooper—first in 2022 with 56% of the vote and again in 2024 with 52.7%. These victories have established him as an influential figure representing his district’s interests.
