Rep. Greg Stanton, a U.S. Congressman from Arizona who secured reelection in both 2022 and 2024 against Kelly Cooper, recently addressed airline passenger protections and climate-related public health concerns in a series of social media posts.

On November 16, 2025, Stanton criticized changes made under the Trump administration regarding airline accountability during travel disruptions. He stated, “When travelers are stranded by canceled flights and long delays, the airline should compensate those impacted. The Trump administration just changed the rules to let airlines off the hook. I’m leading the fight in Congress to get the @USDOT to restore these vital protections.” In a follow-up post on the same day, he directed readers to additional information about this policy reversal: “You can read more on the reversal here: https://t.co/WBMUPON7OW”

Later that evening, Stanton commented on rising global temperatures and related fatalities. He wrote, “Deadly heat already kills more than half a million people a year worldwide, and it’s getting worse. Arizonans know the danger all too well. #COP30’s $300 million commitment to researching solutions is an important step toward addressing this public health emergency.”

Stanton has represented Arizona through multiple election cycles, having won against Kelly Cooper in both 2022 (56% to 43.1%) and 2024 (52.7% to 45.5%). These victories have positioned him as an ongoing advocate for both consumer protections and climate action at the federal level.
