Rep. Greg Stanton, U.S. Congressman from Arizona, used his social media platform to address issues concerning health care access and energy assistance funding in December 2025.

On December 17, Stanton criticized the Republican majority for not acting on health care protections, specifically mentioning another Arizona representative: “This includes @RepCiscomani, who has previously said ‘doing nothing is not an option.’ Once again, the Republican majority had a chance to protect health care for more than 400,000 Arizonans, and they chose not to act.”

The following day, Stanton highlighted concerns about federal energy assistance programs: “Increasing energy costs and decreasing LIHEAP is a deadly combination. LIHEAP protects families in need from having their heat shut off in dangerous cold. We should be increasing this funding and distributing it equitably.” The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides support to vulnerable households during periods of extreme weather.

Later on December 18, Stanton commented on a policy action with a brief assessment: “Dumb, illegal, and does nothing to lower costs.”

Stanton has represented Arizona’s 4th congressional district since 2019. He won reelection against Kelly Cooper in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections, securing victories by margins of approximately 13% and 7%, respectively.
