Rep. Greg Stanton, a U.S. Congressman from Arizona, used his social media platform on November 14 and 15, 2025, to criticize Republican positions on health care and homelessness policy.

On November 14, Stanton addressed recent legislative negotiations by stating, “Republicans refused to negotiate a deal on health care until the government reopened. Now they won’t back our plan to extend Affordable Care Act savings for 3 more years. You can’t claim you’re for lower costs and oppose the bill to do it.”

The following day, Stanton referenced his experience with local housing initiatives: “I chaired the Maricopa Continuum of Care, and the data is clear: Housing First works. It’s one of the most effective models we have to end homelessness. The Trump administration is abandoning decades of evidence-based policy. This reversal will push thousands of our most” He also included a separate post linking additional information: https://t.co/leY59n3LUY.

Stanton has represented Arizona in Congress since winning consecutive elections against Kelly Cooper in both 2022 and 2024. In the 2024 general election, he secured victory with approximately 52.7% of the vote compared to Cooper’s 45.5%. Two years earlier, he won with a margin of 56% over Cooper’s 43.1%.

Housing First is an approach that prioritizes providing permanent housing as a foundation for addressing other challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.
