Rep. Greg Stanton, U.S. Congressman from Arizona, shared updates on social media this week covering topics ranging from international democracy to local law enforcement and community loss.
On January 23, 2026, Stanton wrote about a meeting with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado: “This week, I met with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado regarding the need for swift, secure, and fair elections for the people of Venezuela. The country’s democratic future must be decided by Venezuelans.”
The following day, January 24, Stanton addressed public safety and transparency in policing: “Thank you to @PhoenixPolice leadership for this important information. Law enforcement officials should always operate with transparency and the safety of the public top of mind.”
Later that same day, Stanton expressed condolences over the death of a prominent Phoenix community member: “My heart breaks learning of the passing of Brad Brauer. Brad was a gentle soul and a passionate fighter supporting historic neighborhoods in Phoenix. He was also one of the best prepared and impactful community leaders I worked with in the city. My sympathies to his husband”.
Stanton has represented Arizona’s 4th congressional district since first being elected in 2018. In recent election cycles he has maintained his seat by defeating Kelly Cooper twice—once in 2022 with 56% of the vote to Cooper’s 43.1%, and again in 2024 with 52.7% against Cooper’s 45.5%.
