Rep. Greg Stanton, a U.S. Congressman who recently secured reelection in 2024 against Kelly Cooper, has raised concerns on social media about rising consumer prices and border security policies.
On November 16, 2025, Stanton commented on the impact of tariffs and their effect on holiday shopping, stating: “‘Tis the season… for higher prices. Companies have been hesitant to pass along the cost of tariffs to you, but that’s changing fast — prices for everything from toys to trees are soaring. If Trump doesn’t reverse course, he’ll be the Grinch that stole Christmas.”
The following day, November 17, 2025, Stanton addressed border security and immigration enforcement: “Most Americans want strong border security but oppose Trump’s mass deportation policy. The reassigning of thousands of agents to implement mass deportation has serious consequences: it has meant a 33% drop in work on child sexual abuse cases and a reduced focus on”. He then directed followers to additional information: “You can read more on the consequences below https://t.co/SS8cokr2fh”.
Stanton’s recent statements come after his electoral victory in 2024 over Kelly Cooper with a margin of 52.7% to 45.5%. In the previous cycle in 2022, he also defeated Cooper by a similar margin.
