Rep. Greg Stanton, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, has recently addressed concerns about potential cuts to federal assistance programs and veterans’ benefits in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On November 12, 2025, Stanton warned that “SNAP is also at risk thanks to Republicans’ so-called ‘One Big Beautiful Bill,’ which will kick millions of kids, seniors, and veterans off the program. I’ve joined @RepHoulahan’s amendment to undo their long-term plans to gut SNAP and increase costs for working-class Americans.”

In another post on the same day, Stanton highlighted the impact of government shutdowns on families reliant on federal support: “When government shuts down, families pay the price — literally. Missed paychecks. Lost benefits. Higher costs. I joined @RepJahanaHayes’ amendment to ensure SNAP benefits keep flowing so families can afford groceries even when government funding runs out.”

Addressing issues related to veterans’ healthcare, Stanton responded directly to Rep. Linda Sanchez: “Our veterans shouldn’t have to fight bureaucracy to get the care they were promised. I joined @RepDWStweets’s amendment to restore cut VA funding so no veteran is left paying out of pocket for the care they deserve.” This statement reflects ongoing debates in Congress over funding for veterans’ services.

Greg Stanton has served as a representative since winning elections against Kelly Cooper in both 2022 and 2024; he secured victory with 52.7% of the vote in 2024 and 56% in 2022.
