KoMiCo, a company specializing in precision cleaning and advanced coatings for the semiconductor industry, has opened a new facility in Mesa, Arizona. The 125,000-square-foot site will focus on cleaning, coating, and repairing semiconductor equipment parts. Initially, the facility will provide 50 jobs, with plans to expand to over 200 positions in the coming years.

Executives from KoMiCo America and its global branches attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside local government officials and representatives from economic development organizations. Notable attendees included City of Mesa Mayor Mark Freeman and members of the Arizona Commerce Authority.

The Mesa facility represents an investment exceeding $60 million. It is KoMiCo’s third location in the United States and its tenth worldwide. The building features multiple cleanrooms equipped with advanced technology and diagnostic tools.

James Jin, CEO of KoMiCo America, said: “KoMiCo’s expansion into Arizona reflects both the growth of our business and our belief in the region’s talent and technology ecosystem. It also allows us to be closer to our customers, respond faster to their needs, and provide the level of support required in today’s demanding semiconductor manufacturing environment. We’re proud to create new jobs, invest in local capabilities, and build a foundation that supports U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and our employees for years to come.”

KoMiCo operates a dedicated research division focused on innovation through customer partnerships. The new Mesa facility is designed to serve both current fabrication plants (fabs) as well as future fabs using advanced technologies such as EUV lithography and sub-1 nanometer tech nodes.

Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, stated: “KoMiCo’s new Mesa facility marks a significant addition to Arizona’s rapidly expanding semiconductor supply chain. With its advanced precision‑cleaning and coating capabilities-and more than 200 new skilled jobs-this facility highlights why Arizona has become the premier destination in the U.S. for semiconductor investment.”

Christine Mackay, President & CEO of Greater Phoenix Economic Council added: “The strength of Greater Phoenix’s semiconductor ecosystem rests on its supply chain, and the opening of KoMiCo’s facility allows for more efficiencies and partnerships in the production process. Mesa’s growth as an advantageous operating market is helping accelerate continued development of the company, region and industry.”

Mayor Mark Freeman commented: “Mesa is rapidly becoming a premier destination for semiconductor investment thanks to our highly skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and supportive business environment. KoMiCo’s commitment to our City affirms our strategic standing in this industry. We’re honored to welcome KoMiCo to Mesa and to see southeast Mesa advance as a hub for manufacturing and innovation.”

Vice Mayor Scott Somers noted: “KoMiCo’s new facility is a big win for Mesa and another sign that southeast Mesa is becoming a key part of the semiconductor industry. This investment brings specialized capabilities to clean, coat and repair critical equipment parts, and it will help support the high-tech growth we’re seeing across the region. KoMiCo plans to grow from 50 jobs to more than 200 in the years ahead-exactly the kind of high-skill opportunity we want for Mesa residents.”

KoMiCo is part of MiCo group companies which include MiCo Ceramics—focused on ceramic heaters—and MiCo Ltd., which supplies raw materials like special powders used during coating processes.
