Rep. Andy Biggs, who represents Arizona’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent political and healthcare issues.

On December 11, 2025, Biggs responded to comments made by Representative Bennie Thompson of Mississippi regarding a shooting incident involving law enforcement. In his post, Biggs stated: “What a disgusting comment by Mississippi’s @BennieGThompson. November’s shooting was a targeted attack on law enforcement encouraged by radical Democrats’ hatred of President Trump and the rule of law. It was far from an accident.”

Later that day, Biggs addressed concerns about healthcare policy in the United States, criticizing existing legislation and advocating for reform. He wrote: “This is the reality of socialized healthcare. We must repeal and replace the Unaffordable Care Act with reform centered around freedom, patient choice, and affordability.”

Continuing his focus on healthcare policy into December 12, Biggs promoted his legislative proposal with another post: “The House must pass my Putting Patients First Healthcare Freedom Act immediately. Freedom of choice when selecting healthcare plans Lower premiums Funds that go to Americans, NOT insurance companies Price transparency”

Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District since 2017 after succeeding Richard Miranda. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
