Rep. Andy Biggs, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, used his social media account to comment on recent political developments and express criticism of Democratic lawmakers.

On October 16, 2025, Biggs wrote: “The Schumer Shutdown would’ve cost our troops a paycheck today. But thanks to President Trump, our service men and women got paid. While the Democrats are busy playing politics, President Trump put our troops first.”

Later that day, he posted another statement: “No one is above the law.” (October 16, 2025).

On October 17, 2025, Biggs addressed criminal justice issues in another post: “Unbelievable. Democrats are pro-crime and anti-victim. They’re hoping the public will forget what this animal did to Iryna Zarutska, but we won’t.”

Andy Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs holds a BA from Brigham Young University (1982) and a JD from the University of Arizona (1984).
