Rep. Andy Biggs, U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues related to government benefits, political leadership, and ongoing disputes in Congress.

On October 31, 2025, Biggs wrote: “Noncitizens should not be receiving benefits funded by the American taxpayer. Americans first.”

Later that same day, he commented on Democratic leadership, stating: “The spookiest thing this Halloween is Chuck Schumer and the Democrats’ betrayal of the American people.”

On November 1, 2025, Biggs addressed ongoing government funding disputes: “Anyone with a touch of common sense knows this cannot possibly be blamed on @SecDuffy. Congressional Democrats continue to hold Americans hostage while playing political games. Open the government @SenMarkKelly @SenRubenGallego”

Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Richard Miranda in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs holds degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Arizona.
