Rep. Andy Biggs, who represents Arizona’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on October 1, 2025, addressing topics including environmental policy, voting by non-citizens, and the ongoing government shutdown.

In his first post at 18:47 UTC, Biggs wrote: “Great news. End the Green New Scam.”

Later that day at 19:04 UTC, he commented on claims about voting rights and illegal immigration: “Democrats also claim that illegal aliens could never vote in American elections. But an illegal alien who was a superintendent in Iowa was registered to vote in MD. We tell the truth even if we don’t agree with it. The Left is never honest if it doesn’t fit their narrative.”

At 21:14 UTC, Biggs addressed the government shutdown and attributed responsibility to Senate Democrats: “Thanks for acknowledging the fact that Democrats’ hissy fit is causing the shutdown, Mr. Thanedar. Democrats in the Senate are welcome to pass a bill to reopen the government at any time.”

Andy Biggs has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Richard Miranda and previously held office in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, Biggs earned his BA from Brigham Young University and his JD from the University of Arizona.
