Rep. Andy Biggs, U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing vaccine mandates, abortion protests, birthright citizenship, and healthcare reform.

On December 5, 2025, Biggs criticized employment terminations related to vaccine refusal and legal actions against anti-abortion protestors. He wrote: “No, firing employees for refusing an unsafe, untested vaccine is totalitarianism. Prosecuting grandmothers for peacefully speaking out against the murder of babies in the womb is totalitarianism. But you never said a word about that.”

Later that day, he commented on the interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment and called for changes to current citizenship laws: “The Framers of the 14th Amendment would be horrified to see how grossly abused it is today. American citizenship is priceless, and it shouldn’t be recklessly granted to those who do not respect our laws. End automatic birthright citizenship.”

On December 6, 2025, Biggs addressed healthcare policy and criticized existing legislation: “Obamacare is a complete failure. The American people demand healthcare reform built on freedom, affordability, flexibility, and choice—House Republicans have legislation to do that. I delivered a comprehensive reform framework to @SpeakerJohnson and am urging swift action.”

Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District in Congress since succeeding Richard Miranda in 2017 and previously served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert at age 64, he holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
