Rep. Andy Biggs, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 5th district since 2017, has recently used his social media platform to voice concerns over government actions both in the United States and abroad.

On September 2, 2025, Biggs questioned the absence of criticism from those opposed to authoritarianism by posting: “Where is the ‘no kings’ crowd? This is authoritarianism.”

Later that day, he commented on government practices in the United Kingdom and upcoming congressional oversight: “Government surveillance and censorship in the United Kingdom is out of control. Tomorrow, @JudiciaryGOP will be holding a hearing on this important topic. We must ensure the U.S. doesn’t descend down the same dark path of totalitarianism.”

On September 3, 2025, Biggs addressed crime prevention strategies and recent policy impacts in Washington, D.C., stating: “I’m sure this is hard for the Left to understand, but deterrence is a great way to prevent crime in the first place. Washington, D.C. isn’t a free-for-all anymore. President Trump’s policies are saving lives.”

Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th District since succeeding Richard Miranda in Congress and previously served in the Arizona Senate from 2013 to 2017. Born in Tucson in 1958 and currently residing in Gilbert, he holds degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and the University of Arizona (JD).
