Rep. Greg Stanton, a U.S. Congressman who secured re-election in both 2022 and 2024, posted several statements on October 14, 2025, addressing issues related to congressional procedures, the ongoing government shutdown, and health care policy.

In a post from October 14, 2025, Stanton commented on the importance of congressional presence during emergencies, stating, “In an emergency, you need a Member of Congress on the ground to help coordinate response services and recovery efforts.

By refusing to swear in Adelita Grijalva, Speaker Johnson is playing politics with people’s lives.” This message highlighted his criticism of Speaker Johnson’s decision regarding the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva.

Later that day, Stanton addressed the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on health care affordability, writing, “Trump and the House GOP would rather keep the government shut down than keep health care costs affordable for the middle class.

Democrats in Congress are fighting to protect your coverage.”

In a subsequent post, he offered his perspective on the shutdown: “Here’s the truth about the shutdown… https://t.co/tFJoqo8DZm”.

Stanton’s comments come after his successful campaigns in recent elections. In 2024, he defeated Kelly Cooper in the general election with 52.7% of the vote to Cooper’s 45.5%. Two years earlier, in 2022, Stanton also prevailed over Cooper with 56% to 43.1%.
