Rep. Greg Stanton, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted several messages on December 16, 2025, warning about rising health insurance costs and advocating for the protection of asylum seekers.

In his first post at 18:07 UTC, Stanton stated, “In two weeks, health insurance costs double or worse for over twenty million people. We only need four Republicans to join us on a compromise to prevent costs from soaring.”

Later that day at 22:44 UTC, he addressed concerns about an asylum case involving a whistleblower from China: “Heng Guan risked his life to expose atrocities in China’s Uyghur detention camps. If we deport him now, he faces threats of persecution or worse. Cases like this are exactly why the American asylum system exists and protects those courageous enough to blow the whistle.”

Stanton returned to the issue of health coverage at 23:46 UTC, writing: “House Republicans have a choice to make. This is the last week to avoid a coverage cliff that will push millions off their insurance and even more onto new, more expensive plans. If they’re serious about lowering costs, they need to help us extend the ACA tax credits.”

Stanton has been active in Arizona politics and won re-election against Kelly Cooper in both 2022 and 2024 general elections. In 2024, he secured victory with approximately 52.7% of the vote compared to Cooper’s 45.5%, following a previous win in 2022 by a margin of nearly thirteen percentage points.
