Arizona House Speaker Ben Toma issued a statement on the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In his remarks, Toma called Kirk’s death “a devastating tragedy that strikes at the heart of our nation.” He described Kirk as “a fearless voice who inspired millions with his faith, his devotion to freedom, and his conviction to defend America’s founding principles.”

Toma further stated, “This was political terrorism. Violence aimed at silencing any voices must be confronted and dealt with justly and without hesitation.” He concluded by saying, “Charlie is now with his Heavenly Father, but his legacy will endure in the movement he built, the young people he awakened, and the truth he spoke without apology.”

Kirk was known for founding Turning Point USA and was active in promoting conservative values among young people.

Michael Carbone is currently serving as a Republican representative for Arizona’s 25th House District after being elected in 2023. He succeeded Michelle Udall in this position.
