Santa Claus will be getting away from the North Pole a few more times this holiday season to visit downtown Mesa and join in the Merry Main Street festivities. Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick will be taking Christmas wishes and be available for free photos three nights a week, adding Thursdays to his busy schedule of Friday and Saturday appearances. He will be at his new location inside The Post, the new City-owned community and event space located at 26 N. Macdonald, from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Santa’s Thursday visits coincide with the new Holiday Sunset Market every Thursday through Dec. 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Main and Macdonald. More than 30 local vendors will be selling fresh grocery products, artisan goods, holiday crafts and more. There will also be demonstrations and live music.
Merry Main Street offers numerous activities and events including the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink, open daily through Jan. 6; Music at the Tree (Rose Colored Eyes on Dec. 1 and The People Who Could Fly on Dec. 2); free Holiday Movies at the Plaza every Saturday in December (Elf on Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m.); Bingles, the Gnome on the Roam in downtown Mesa offering weekly clues on social media to win prizes and Jack Frost’s Food Truck Forest on Fridays and Saturdays at Pioneer Park.
