Mesa’s 2050 General Plan draft is now available for public review and comment. The General Plan is our roadmap for Mesa’s long-term growth, prosperity and well-being and is updated every ten years, as mandated by the State of Arizona.

From January 4 to March 4, 2024, Mesa residents can engage in the process by reviewing the updated Plan and providing input. There will be public meetings in each City Council district beginning in late February. Once the dates are confirmed, they will be posted online at tomorrowsmesa.com. Resident participation is crucial for ensuring that Mesa's 2050 General Plan accurately reflects the aspirations and priorities of our community.

“The General Plan is crucial for the City's development, and this is our opportunity to take charge of our future and establish a vision for Mesa," said City Manager Chris Brady. “Our residents have a stake in shaping the future of their communities, and we look forward to getting their feedback and ideas for what the Plan should look like before it goes to the City Council."

Approximately 10,000 people provided input via three surveys and about 65 public events and presentations during 2023. A citizen advisory committee analyzed the community input with help from City staff, who incorporated information from existing plans and Mesa City Council strategic initiatives. The broad Plan includes three core values: The Land, The People and The Economy.
