Tempe PlayDay is set to take place this Saturday, offering families a day full of free activities to enjoy. According to the City of Tempe, the event will feature activities such as kayaking, Ninja obstacle courses, sports, rock wall climbing, skateboarding, and more. The event will be held at Kiwanis Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Among the activities available, there will be art projects hosted by Tempe Community Arts, storytelling and reading activities with Tempe Public Library, and a Kid Zone with gardening, face painting, Angry Bird Launch, STEM activities, and more. Additionally, there will be food trucks on-site for attendees to purchase food and beverages.
Savannah Harrelson, the media contact for the event, stated, "PlayDay began in 2009 as a way to celebrate Tempe’s designation as a Playful City USA Community." The event is sponsored in part by the Tempe Diablos.
