Mesa Public Library is joining the nationwide celebration of National Read An E-Book Week, which runs from March 3 to March 9. The event aims to promote the use of e-book platforms, making it convenient for readers to enjoy books on various portable devices.

E-books offer a multitude of benefits, including portability, easy access 24/7, environmental friendliness, privacy, added features like built-in dictionaries, and ADA accessibility features. Polly Bonnett, Mesa Library Director, highlighted the popularity of e-books and audiobooks among patrons, emphasizing the library's vast collection accessible through e-cards and various apps.

The Mesa Library introduced a new e-Card option in February 2023, providing instant access to e-books, audiobooks, online courses, and more. The e-cards can be easily upgraded to full-access cards at any time for enhanced benefits.

Among the library's apps, Libby stands out as the most preferred choice, offering a comprehensive selection of over 297-thousand downloadable books, audiobooks, magazines, and videos. Other apps available include cloudLibrary, IVOX for children, TumbleBooks for young children and school-aged kids, and TeenBook Cloud for middle school students and teenagers.

Residents of Maricopa County who meet certain criteria are eligible for a free Mesa Public Library card, granting access to a world of literary resources. To learn more about card options and sign up for an e-card, interested individuals can visit mesalibrary.org/getacard.
