Tempe Mayor Corey Woods expressed his excitement for the upcoming Neighborhood Celebration, stating, “Each year, Tempe community members come out in droves to laugh, learn and connect at the park. Compassionate, connected and uniquely Tempe neighborhoods are sources of comfort, strength and beauty for the residents who live in them. The Neighborhood Celebration is a chance to honor and build on Tempe’s strong community bonds. I look forward to seeing everyone there.”

The event, scheduled for Saturday, April 6 at Kiwanis Park Fiesta Ramadas, will feature live music, breakfast refreshments, yard games, and an awards ceremony recognizing individuals, neighborhoods, spaces, events, or initiatives that have made a positive impact on the Tempe community. Winners of the awards will be acknowledged during the celebration. Residents are also encouraged to bring toiletry donations for Threadz, a local resource center supporting teenagers with clothing, hygiene items, and school supplies for school, internships, and job interviews.

The celebration is open to the entire community, with Tempe’s Mayor and City Council, small businesses, local organizations, boards and commission members, residents, and volunteers expected to attend. The event aims to foster a sense of unity and belonging among Tempe residents while also recognizing those who have contributed significantly to the community.

For more information about the annual Neighborhood Celebration, individuals are encouraged to visit tempe.gov/NeighborhoodCelebration. The event serves as an opportunity for residents to come together, engage in community activities, and celebrate the strong bonds that make Tempe a unique and welcoming place to live.
